Self Love

In todays day and age people are always running around from place to place trying to get everything done on their to-do list. Most people focus on the needs of others and the world and fail to remember their own needs. As much as helping and loving others is important, loving yourself is even more important. We all need to remember that in order to give the best of ourselves to others we must be good to ourselves. There are many things that we can do daily to show self love. It can be as small as looking in the mirror and saying “I look fabulous today” or as big as booking yourself a spa treatment. We should all try to do one thing everyday to make us happy and show that we love ourselves.

Morning Pep-Talk 

The first few minutes after waking up in the morning can set the tone for the rest of the day. Make an effort to wake up and spend 5 minutes meditating or reading some inspirational quotes to get you going.

 

Stop and Smell the Roses 

You don’t need someone else to get you flowers. Go out to a local supermarket or florist and buy yourself a bouquet of flowers to put in your house or your room. It will brighten your mood, your space and will make you smile every time you pass by them.

Sit outside

Soaking up some vitamin D is a great way to take sometime out of your day to focus on yourself. Even if it is just a stroll around the neighbourhood or sitting on the porch. Taking time to clear your head will allow your to re-connect with yourself and make you more productive during the day.

Pamper yourself

Pampering yourself can come from a variety of things depending on the person. Just as I had mentioned before it can be as big as booking a spa treatment at a salon or having an at home pamper session. Getting your nails or hair done are also great ways to show self love. You deserve pampering too girl!

Indulge

Treat everyday like the weekend and eat your favourite food. Weather this is a piece of chocolate cake or a bowl of pasta. Make everyday a special occasion and indulge. For me this means eating a nice, fresh piece of tiramisu cake. Have whatever your heart desires.

Pep- Talk

Take a minute to stop and look in the mirror to give yourself a pep-talk. A persons confidence in themselves is a big factor in how they treat themselves and others. Taking time to establish a good relationship with yourself both on the inside and outside will bring about confidence in yourself that will allow you to go about your everyday life in a much happier manner. We must all remember that we are all unique and that everyone is beautiful. The journey to make yourself more confident in yourself is a journey of showing your body self love.

 

I could go on forever about all the things that we can do to show ourselves self love. These are just some of my ideas but it depends on the individual as well. What makes one person happy might not make another person happy. We should all make the conscious effort to do one of these things everyday in order to improve our own well being and the well being of others.
