Tea Time

Summer comes around only once a year. I don’t know about you all but I like to make the most of it. Even before summer starts I take the time out to make a bucket list with my friends about what we want to do and new things we want to try. The worst feeling is when it’s September and you look back at your summer and all you did was watch Netflix all day. When coming up with ideas about what to do for the summer we wanted to come up with ideas that we had never done before and that were unique. My friends and I Me all made the effort to do this because doing the same things like going to each other’s house or going to the movies was getting old.  We got our inspiration for ideas from all the time that we spend on social media, seeing what other people that we follow are doing and places that they had gone.  One of the ideas that we came up was to go to a place called The Tea Room to have some girl time for the afternoon.

I had never been to The Tea Room before, but have always wanted to go. When thinking of places to go visit I always like to think of the atmosphere and the experience. We all wanted to go to have tea because it sounded like a very different and fun experience. I thought that it would be very relaxing as well. This tea place is located in a historic home, and the inside is very old looking with vintage decor. It made you feel like you were somewhere in England. We got a table in a spot by a window and were able to  look outside at the beautiful landscape. It was adorable and the perfect place to take cute photos!

My friends and I all decided to dress up and do our hair and make up.  If we are going to go to tea we are going to do it right and look the part. As girls we love to dress up so this was the perfect opportunity to do so. Not only is going for afternoon tea the perfect excuse to dress up but there is something so calming about sitting and drinking tea. It is the perfect setting to sit and have a nice chat with your girlfriends about the latest gossip or plans for the future. We spent over two hours sipping tea, eating and talking about anything that came to mind. We got to know more about each other and catch up on each other lives. It was defiantly much needed girl time.

We decided to embrace the afternoon tea experience and ordered tea and scones. The selection of teas was huge, there is definitely a tea for everyone. It took sometime but I finally decided on one called Bora Bora mango. Surprisingly I really enjoyed it, as I am not regularly a tea drinker. The scones came out on a cute little plate with jam and strawberries, and of course we had to take a billion pictures of the table with the pretty food and tea. It was a must! The scones not only looked good but tasted amazing as well. During our afternoon I found out that a very controversial topic in Britain is weather to put the jam or cream on your scone first. I decided to do cream first then jam, but I feel the other way around would have tasted just as good.

After tea, we decided that we should take advantage of being dressed up and the pretty setting to have a photoshoot. We went to many locations around the house taking turns snapping photos of each other for all of us later to post on our Instagram and Vsco. Having photoshoots with friends is also something super fun to do in the summer! We’ll have these photos forever to look back on and remember the fun time  we had.

While we were sitting at our table sipping our tea and eating our scones we could all not help but express how put together and at peace we felt. We were in our own little world filled with laughter and smiles. It was such a great experience and we were all so happy that we made one of our ideas on our summer bucket list happen. I encourage you all to all do the same. Summer does not last forever so take advantage of it the most you can. Have fun and try new things each and everyday.
