Trend Update: Fall

Hello fashionistas!

As the time for PSL and cozy sweaters nears our desire to get into the fall mood grows. My previous blog post talked about all of the clothing trends for this years fall season. I decided that it would be a good idea to write a blog regarding pattern and colour trends for this season to incorporate into anything you wear. This fall season involves everything from wild prints to the classic jewel tones. Both luxury and high street designers such as Micheal Kors and Zara are creating pieces that are right on trend for every budget. I thought it would be beneficial to not only talk about the new fall trends but give you both expensive and budget friendly options to suit everyones taste. I hope everyone gets some great inspiration from this post. Remember everyone that these trends can be incorporated into everything that you wear, from clothes, to accessories, to shoes and purses. Happy reading fashion lovers!

Wild Prints

Colourful and wild prints were everywhere on the runway during Fall NYFW. Wild prints such as geometric, stars, animal, strips, and  florals. Designers decided to design pieces that give a statement to any outfit. You can buy a cheetah printed blouse and wear it tucked into a simple black pencil skirt to take it to the next level, or buy a floral bag to add some wonder to every outfit. No matter what you wear these key pieces with you will turn a drab outfit into a fab one!

Velvet

Shimmer and shine are what this fall is all about. Velvet adds a luxurious touch to any outfit that you wear. When the fabric hits the light you will be shinning brighter then anyone in the room. You can incorporate velvet shoes and clothes into your outfits to achieve that luxury look. Velvet fabric has links to royalty so it is definitely a fancy item to have in your wardrobe.

Monochromatic

The most chic style in my opinion is the monochromatic look. If you do not know what monochromatic means, it is when you wear all one colour. I mean from head to toe.  You may think that wearing all one colour is a total fashion DON’T but I promise you that it is all the rage. It has been a popular style for celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna. Just stick to a colour such as blush or black and wear everything that colour. Instantly you will be right on trend!

Given that this style incorporates many different pieces I decided that it would be best to show you some already put together looks instead of individualized pieces.

Suede

Yes that right ladies suede is coming back and in a big way. Suede dresses, skirts, shoes, bags you name it. You may remember your Mom talking about all the suede clothing she used to wear when she was younger. Now many trends from the 1980’s and onward such as suede are coming back with a modern twist. Wear a suedejacket with some black skinny jeans and booties and you are all set. As well don’t be afraid to wear suede on suede, I promise that you will get major fashion cred!

Jewel Tones

It is a fact that jewel tones like fiery reds, royal blues and deep greens look flattering on any one. They will bring out your features and make them pop. Jewel tones can be incorporated into your outfits in many ways. You can wear them in dresses, skirts, shoes, bags and in my favourite jewellery.
