I don’t know about all of you but when the New Year rolls around I like to get my life organized. I spend countless hours on Pinterest trying to discover the best ways to organize all of my belongings. In today’s post I have gathered the best ways to organize things that have worked well for me and I hope works well for you too.
CLOTHING
Closet

- Hang your more expensive and delicate clothing (dresses, blouses etc).
- Hang all of your most worn items in your closet so that you can actually see them and they are easy to get to
- Organize your clothing into categories (long sleeve, short sleeve, dresses, skirts etc) to make it easier to locate what you are looking for.
- Organize your clothing by colour so that it makes them easier to find.

- If your closet is small try to put two clothing racks in your closet to have even more places to hang things.
- Instead of using bulky wooden hangers that enable clothes to slip off use skinny felt hangers instead. They will prevent clothes from slipping off and allows for more clothes to fit on one rack.
- If you are someone who likes to see your favourite clothing pieces out in the open put a clothing rack in your room. It doubles as extra storage and decor.

Drawers

- Put clothing that you wear less or clothing that is less likely to wrinkle (sweaters, shorts, pyjamas etc) into drawers. This will save your drawers from getting messy faster.
- Get dividers to prevent drawers from getting messy.
- It is also a good tip to place sweaters into drawers to prevent them from stretching or pulling on a hanger.
- Have a drawer for each category (one for tops, one for bottoms etc)
- To prevent your drawers from getting messy faster put your most worn items on top.
- Get bins to place out of season items under the bed.

ACCESSORIES
Handbags

- Place handbags on top of a shelf in your closet.
- If you are someone who likes to see your bags buy a shelf and place it in your room to put all of your bags on.
- You can leave your bags in their dust bags or you can leave them out, it is all your personal preference.
- Stuff your bags with tissue paper in order to display them better and for them to keep their shape.
- Organize them by type of bag so when you go to choose one you know exactly where to look.
- Buy a shoe holder that you can put onto the door and use it to put your wallets and clutches by putting them into each compartment.
Shoes

- Place a shoe rack in your closet to organize all of your shoes and make them easy to access.
- Buy a shoe holder that your can put on the door to maximize space if needed.
- Place one shoe in and one shoe out to allow for more shoes to fit on one rack or shelf.
- Stuff them with tissue paper when not in use so they keep their shape (It is also a good thing to do while travelling so they do not get damaged).
- Organize them by type and colour of shoe.
Scarves

- Tie them onto a towel rack or hanger.
- You can fold them and place them on a pants hanger.
- Buy a shoe holder that you can put onto the door and roll your scarves and place them into each compartment.
- Buy a special scarf hanger that has holes to allow you to put each scarf through them.
Jewellery

- Buy a stand or a glass box to display necklaces on.
- Get a jewellery box to put more expensive jewellery and watches.
- Use a square of leather or felt to stick stud earrings on.
- Place rings into a little bowl.
