Hello everyone,
On this sunny spring afternoon I decided to pull out my book of recipes and bake some treats. ย After flipping through for a few minutes with nothing catching my eye I decided to make one of my favourite classics. Chocolate Chip cookies! They are the ultimate comfort food. These chocolate chip cookies are crispy on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. I decided to add my own twist and instead of only adding chocolate chips I added pecans as well. ย If you are not an excellent baker then have no fear these cookies are super easy to make and only require a few basic ingredients. So get out your apron, put on some fun music and lets get baking!
Ingredientsย
- 2 cups plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 12 tbsp butter (1 1/2 sticks) melted and cooled until warm
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semi- sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecans
Instructionsย
- Head oven to 325 degrees F.
- Choose a medium bowl to mix your dry ingredients of flour, salt and baking soda.
- In a separate mixing bowl beat together the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until well blended. Add the whole egg and vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips and pecans until they are mixed evenly throughout the dough.
- Gently spoon into 1 inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes and let cool.

They taste amazing! My family and I love them! I added a little less flour for a more crisper cookie (that’s what I like doing to all cookie recipes). I also didn’t have pecans unfortunately. Once again thanks for sharing this really nice recipe. ๐
