Now comes the time of year where we all start thinking about our summer wardrobe. Summer is one of my favourite seasons because it is so easy to put a together a cute outfit. Once you have your basics you are good to go and can create so many outfits! When I think of summer I think of crisp whites and flowy tops. There are many trends that have emerged for this summer that are everywhere in stores and on the runway. Similar to all seasons, I decided to write a blog post all about the summer clothing trends for this year. This will give you an idea about what to look for when shopping for your new summer wardrobe!

CRAZY PATTERNS
The definition of crazy patterns is different for everyone depending on what your style is. This summer I think that everyone can classify these patterns as a bit out there. You definitely have to be a person that is conformable with loud patterns to pull off this look. However, there are many ways for you to style these patterns depending on your comfort level with prints. If you have a more simplistic style then choose one clothing item with a loud print such as a jacket or pants and pair it with other simpler items. This will allow you to make a statement without going out of your comfort zone. I do challenge you to try something new though and pair a couple of complementary patterns together too!
OFF THE SHOULDER
For the past few seasons the off the shoulder trend has been very popular. This year I have found that it has become even more sought-after. I think that this trend is great because shoulders are such a feminine and flattering part of any women’s body. I don’t know about you girls but when I wear anything off the shoulder I instantly feel more confident. Off the shoulder tops are also sexy but classy at the same time. It’s a win win! You can choose to wear off the shoulder tops with some nice white jeans or some jean shorts. You could also wear an off the shoulder dress as well.

DENIM SKIRTS
Lets take it back a couple decades to when fashion was first introduced to the trend of jean skirts. Like most trends from back in the day they are coming back in a fresh and new way. I think that jean skirts are a great alternative to wearing shorts and jeans. They are so fun, cute and just different. I find that in the summer I am constantly switching between dresses and shorts which tends to become very repetitive. Now by adding a jean skirt into the mix I have more outfit options.

GINGHAM
I have to say that I was not that big of a fan of this trend when it first came out but it as definitely grown on me. I find that it is such an understated print that also makes a big impact at the same time. You can wear this print in any item of clothing and rock it! I have seen a lot of gingham in stores such as Zara and Topshop no matter what style you are going for.

TIES
A lot of clothing of this 2017 summer season features ties and knots. Whether this be on the sides or in the front. I think that this is such a flattering element to add because it give the illusion of a smaller waist. Not to mention that it it super girly! This trend takes a simply coloured top and makes it a statement piece.
WRAP DRESSES
Wrap dresses are a new trend this season and I am loving them. They are in so many stores right now in various patterns such as stripes and florals. Wrap dresses are super flattering because they accentuate your waist giving you the hourglass figure that everyone is after. Wrap dresses are perfect for vacation because they are flowey which means that you will stay cool and they are so beachy. You can even wear them as a coverup over a bathing suit because it is easy to take on and off.

SCRUNCH TOPS
These tops are the definition of adorable. They are so care free and easy to wear. You can wear these scrunch tops with anything whether it be shorts or a skirt. They also come in a variety of patterns as well.

RUFFLES
Last but not least is ruffles! Ruffles make any clothing item so fun and girly. They can literally be added to any clothing item and it looks good. I have seen them on skirts, tops, jeans, dresses and even shorts! Your personal comfort zone will dictate how big and how much ruffles your choose to wear. Although ruffles are very girly they can definitely give a more edgy vibe depending on how you wear them and what you pair them with for this summer.
