The fall season is finally here and I am so happy about it! I love how the leaves change and how the air gets a little bit colder but above all, my favourite thing about fall is the fashion. The sweaters, the scarves, the boots, the hats. I could go on forever. I have been keeping up with all of this seasons fall fashion trends from the first day of fashion month early this year. There are so many amazing trends this fall season that I don’t even know where to begin. To make the process of deciding what to add to your wardrobe this fall easier I put together a blog of the essentials that you need to look amazing this season.

Colour Of The Season
Red
Be prepared to see red everywhere this 2017 fall season. There are many ways that you can incorporate red in to your wardrobe no matter what your comfort zone. If you want to be more subtle you can do some red leather gloves and a bag or if you want to really embrace the trend wear red from head to toe.
Patterns and Details
Plaid
Plaid has always been a staple for the fall however this season the tweed pattern is making its mark. You can wear this pattern in a skirt, a blazer or even a scarf. This adds a very sophisticated yet relaxed vibe to any outfit. Take a tweed blazer for example: you can dress it up with some dress pants and heels for work or pair it with jeans and some ankle boots for the day time.
Garden Print
Florals are being referred to as the garden print by designers this season. Designers such as Tory Burch and Acne Studios had put this trend into motion on the runway. What I love about this seasons florals is that they are in light pastel colours instead of the traditional dark florals for fall. You can do this trend in a simple scarf or top or really embrace it with some palatzo pants or a dress.
Buttons
Buttons, buttons and more buttons. Designers such as Rosie Assoulin and Sies Majan could not get enough of buttons for their collections. Buttons are showing up everywhere such as on clothes and accessories this season. Weather it be on the side of a pair of pants or all the way down the length of a dress it looks so on trend.
Clothing Trends
Denim on Denim
The canadian tuxedo is making a comeback this season. This trend has been seen on many celebrities such as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. You no longer have to worry about clashing your light wash jean jacket with your light wash jeans anymore. As well you do not have to be picky about the two denims matching. Mixing and matching different colour denims is another fantastic trend this season. You can buy a pair of jeans with a dark wash in the front and light wash in the back to embrace this trend.
Vintage Styles
You know all of the clothing pieces that you have seen your parents wear as teenagers in the 80s; well all of those styles are making a comeback this season. Clothing pieces such as velvet pants and puffer jackets were huge on the runway. You can either find these pieces at vintage shops (be sure to check out my blog with tips on how to vintage shop) or buy new items that mimic the vintage styles. Stores like Urban Outfitters should be your go to for items like these.
Cropped denim
In addition to the demin of denim trend, another jean trend this season is cropped denim. As we have seen in other seasons, skinny jeans are not the cut that is on trend right now. The mom fit and boyfriends style jeans is what’s going to amp up your outfit up that much more. This also overlaps with the vintage trend because this is the shape of jeans that people used to wear in the 80s-2000s. Make sure that the jeans that you buy are cropped at the botton to just ankle length. You can even do this to your existing jeans by cutting the bottom yourself with scissors.
Broad Shoulders
Don’t be alarmed when you walk into many stores and see that all the blazers and jackets have shoulder pads similar to what your mom used to wear in the 80s. Again in relation to the vintage trend specifically, the broad shoulders on jackets and blazers are making a big comeback this 2017 fall season. Don’t be scared that you cannot pull this off. It is simply an elevation to a simple piece that will make any outfit totally on trend.
Accessories
Baker Boy Hat
The baker boy hat has come and gone as a trend for many seasons. Many different people of all different ages can pull of this hat. It is such trendy peace and adds something interesting and fun to your outfit. A bonus is that if you are having a bad hair day just plop it on and you still have such a chic outfit.
Wide Belts
Belts have been out of the game for a while but this season they are making a comeback in a big way. Instead of wearing a wide belt with a dress or a top switch it up and wear in on top of a nice jacket this fall. It is a new twist on an old trend that I am guaranteed you will love.
