10 SPRING TRENDS FOR 2018

I don’t think anyone understands how happy I am to be writing this blog post about spring trends. It means that we can all finally see the light at the end of the dark cold and miserable tunnel that has been this winter. The past few days have been over 10 degrees and that has already made me happier and more excited for the sunny and warm days ahead. I have already started my spring clothing shopping so I thought it was the perfect time to write this post for you all. For this year’s trends for spring, I really wanted to make sure that I stayed away from the typical and predictable trends such as florals and pastels. I am going to include all of the fun new trends for this season that I think everyone should have in their wardrobe.

I really hope you all enjoy!

Sequins

Yes, all you glitter lovers sequins are here to stay this season! Now glitter is a very bold statement, therefore, wear the amount that you feel comfortable. You can wear it as details on a sweater or on a handbag or you can go all out in a full sequin dress. This trend was seen all over the runways of Gucci, Versace, and Dior, therefore, you will be totally on trend.

Fringing

I feel like fringe has not been a spring trend for a while and I cannot be happier that it is back.  This season has many different variations of fringe, Chloe on the runway had more festival vibes for fringe whereas Bottega and Loewe showed fringe in a more sophisticated light.  You can have fringe on the bottom of a skirt, on a bag, on a jacket, the possibilities are endless.

Bold Colour

Spring has always been about the bright colors but this year it is all about wearing the same bright color from head to toe. This trend is a big statement and although some might be scared to try it I really think everyone should take the chance. It is such a fun way to make a statement that does not involve anything glittery or sparkly. It is an understated but amazing statement.

Sheer

This trend has to be one of my favorites! I love how you can be both sophisticated and sexy at the same time depending on how you choose to wear the trend. Designers like Dior have included this trend in dresses, pants, shirts, you name it.

Plastic

Yes, you did read that correctly, plastic is going to be a big trend for this spring. This trend is very easy to be worn on the runway however in everyday life it may be a bit challenging. Therefore I recommend owning this trend and wearing it in a bag, shoes or even a jacket.

Square Necklines

Square necklines have to be the most flattering neckline out there. You can wear this trend in dresses and tops. This is also a trend that you can easily get on both the high street and luxury market.

White Tank Top

This is such a basic piece that I am sure everyone already has in their wardrobe and if not they are super inexpensive to buy. You may be thinking that how can such a basic item as a white tank top be a trend and it is because of the casual but cool vibes it has. You can wear it with some mom jeans, or under a floral dress. The possibilities are endless.

Bike Shorts

This trend may be a bit scary to most people however I still wanted to include it because I believe that it is going to be very popular this season. Kim K was really the first one to start this trend. You can wear them with crop tops and long sweaters or under dresses so they peak out the bottom.

Small Framed Sunglasses

Put your big framed sunglasses away because of this season the smaller the frame the better. This style of sunglasses adds such a cool vibe to any outfit. You can choose to buy a pair but you can also see if your mom has any vintage ones as they used to be the trend in the 90s as well.

“Dad” Shoes

This is another trend from the 90s and earlier that is coming back this season. So many designers and brands are coming out with this style of the sneaker from Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga to Adidas and Reebok. This trend is maybe one that a lot of people don’t like however I think that everyone should give it a try cause it makes every outfit cool and current.

Belt Bags

Yes, your father was right in keeping his “fanny pack” stored away for all these years because they are back with a vengeance. Celebrities have been seen wearing belt bags everywhere. They are so convenient and brands are coming out with so many stylish and cute ones.
