Hello everyone!
Recently I decided to make a big change and cut my hair. This style change meant that I had to develop a whole new hair care routine and I have to say its been so much fun. I will give you all the info on the inspiration behind the style, the cut and all the products I use. What is even more exciting is the products and tools that I use are all drugstore products and are super affordable! I will also give you all my tips to achieve a salon like style at home.
Inspiration
Due to the fact that I was contemplating cutting my hair for about a year I had an entire Pinterest board of inspo pics. I really needed a change from the long hair I had for so long but wanted a change the still suited my style. I originally wanted to go for a shorter and layered look however that changed when I found a ton of people with this sleek blunt cut. I thought it perfectly went with my style and loved how mature it looked.
Cut
I wanted my hair to hit just bellow the shoulder so I cut about 4 inches off. I decided to go for a blunt cut in order to achieve the sleek and stylish vibe I was going for. I loved my long hair and all that different styles that I was able to do with it but I was looking for a drastic change and hair is the perfect thing to experiment with as it always grows back! So if your struggling to decide weather to cut it or not like I was, keep that in mind. Due to the fact that it has been almost a year since I last coloured my hair I decided that it was due for a refresh and I coloured it a deep cool toned brown. I could not be happier with how it turned out and am so happy I just went for it.

Hair Care Routine
I wash my hair 2-3 times a week in order to avoid stripping my hair of its natural oils. I use Pantene’s frizz removing shampoo and conditioner and make sure to double wash, as I find it makes my hair have extra volume and feel extra clean. In addition I do a hair a hair mask at least once a week. The hair mask ensures that my hair stays extra healthy and hydrated. I wet my hair and leave the mask in for 10-20 minutes.
Now I think everyone can agree with me that it is almost impossible to get the smooth and sleek finish that you get at the salon at home. It is always so smooth and shiny. Due to the fact that I wanted to achieve a sleek look I knew I had to find a way to do it myself at home. I have found two products that have completely changed my life, as drastic as that sounds when it comes to styling my hair.
- I first start off with spraying TRESemmé Thermal Creations Flat Iron spray that I randomly picked up one day at walmart. It is designed to act as a styling spray for straightening hair in order to create a smooth and shinny finish that eliminates frizz. It also acts as a heat protected saving me a step and keeping my hair protected.

- I first start off with blow drying my hair with a regular blow dryer until it is almost dry
- What has completely changed the game for me is this Revlon One Step Hair Dyer that I purchased on Amazon. I saw so many bloggers on instagram talk about this hair tool and thought it was so innovative as it combines a brush with a blowdryer making it so much easier to achieve that blow-out look. I would always struggle with holding the round brush and the blowdryer at the same time. This revlon tool makes styling hair quick, easy and eliminates almost all frizz. I use the spray for a second time and then begin sectioning my hair into three sections and running the revlon tool though each part of my hair.

- Lastly I use my Avanti Ultra Nano straightener to make it extra straight. The spray in combination with the Revlon hair dryer work together to eliminate frizz and give me the weightless feeling that I usually could only get at the salon. Going over it again with the straightener elevates it that much more have makes it super sleek in no time at all.
- In the end I am left with frizz free, sleek, shinny, smooth and healthy salon looking hair at home!
