Hello everyone!
Today I am bringing to you my Nutella Cake Recipe. One night I was sitting on the couch doing some work when I felt the sudden urge to bake something new. I was also craving something chocolatey at the time and therefore the idea to make a Nutella cake was born. I’m not going to lie to you all, this recipe is a little longer then my other ones simply because of the amount of ingredients involved and there being two portions to the cake, but don’t let that discourage you. This Nutella Cake is still super easy to make and the end result is more then delicious. As always, let me know if you try out the recipe and send me pictures on instagram, I would love to see your cakes. Happy Baking!

INGREDIENTS
FOR THE CAKE
- 3 cups of flour
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
FOR THE NUTELLA ICING
- 1 cup of butter (room temperature)
- 6 cups of powdered sugar
- 4 tbsp milk
- 1 1/2 cups of Nutella
DIRECTIONS
FOR THE CAKE

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter three 9 inch cake rounds (I only had 2 so I ended up making 2 cakes- a big one and a baby one lol)
- Mix together your flour, sugar, coca powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a mixer on low speed until combined.
- Add in your eggs, buttermilk, warm water, oil and vanilla into your dry mixture. Beat on medium speed until combined and smoothed. About 2 minutes.
- By hand mix in your chocolate chips into the batter until evenly combined.
- Divide your batter evenly among your three pans
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
- Cool for 30 minutes or until cake it fully cooled before icing.
FOR THE ICING

- Combine your butter and powdered sugar in your stand mixer. Mix until combined.
- Add 1 tbsp of milk at a time.
- Add Nutella and stir until combined.
- Apply the icing to your cooled cake layers. Apply one layer of icing on one cake layer and carefully place the other layer on top. Repeat if you have a third layer.
- Add another layer of icing to top off your cake and add chocolate chips for a finishing touch.
- Eat and Enjoy!
