STYLED BY ALTG: MY FRIEND MADDY

Hello everyone!

Today I am starting a new series on my blog called “Styled by ALTG”, in this series I will be styling my friends, family and other readers. Based on the persons style I will select pieces that I believe suit who they are, what they would pick themselves and items I feel would look amazing on them, even if there they are a bit out of their comfort zone. For the first post in my series I will be styling my long time friend Maddy. Maddy’s style can be described as simple but with added elements of interest to make it her own. She dresses based on what makes her feel best which is amazing! When I asked what occasions she wanted me to style her for she choose a shopping outfit, a vacation dinner outfit, an at home cozy outfit and a nighttime look. It was so fun to be able to pick outfits for her and see what her reactions where. Keep reading to see what I choose and the rating she gave me for each one! Downtown Shopping Outfit

The first outfit I created for Maddy was a downtown shopping day outfit. She is someone who loves pattered pants and bohemian look so I started with this romper. I then built on the overall vibe and added the woven bag, which is super on trend for this spring and summer and something that I thought she would really like. The flat sandals are perfect for shopping as they are comfortable therefore allowing her to shop till she drops. The sunglasses finish off the look. I thought this outfit was definitely Maddy’s style and hoped that she would love it.

Maddys rating: 10/10

Maddy’s Comments: Love the romper! It’s so me and I would definitely wear this in the summer on a day out. The shoes are the perfect height since I don’t wear high heels normally and the bag is super cute and versatile.

Vacation Dinner Outfit

Maddy is going to Italy next summer and wanted me to create the perfect dinner outfit for her. When I found this dress I knew that it was just perfect. The black color makes classic but the ruffles give it a romantic and girly vibe which is just perfect for nights in Italy and I felt completely fit Maddy’s vibe. It a dress that is simple but makes such a beautiful statement. The pink snake skin shoes add a fun element and are the perfect height. Finish the look off with a black bag and she’s good to go for a night out on vacation!

Maddy’s rating: 10/10

WOW! This dress is so me, it’s flowy, it’s frilly and simple. It’s perfect for a hot vacation dinner. I would wear this dress all the time. These shoes are so cute, I haven’t been able to find any shoes in this style that I really like but these are perfect. The bag is also really cute and I like how you can wear it with or without the strap.

At home casual outfit

Since we are all in quarantine it was only fitting to create an at home comfy look for Maddy. She does a great job of adding a fun element to something that would otherwise be simple, which I love, so I wanted to incorporate that into this look. The tie dye pants accomplish this perfectly, they are comfy but the tie dye is fun and adds an extra element of interest. I then balanced them out with a simple white tank top and of course fuzzy slippers!

Maddy’s rating: 8/10

I love the flowy pants and the top! the slippers I may not wear out of the house though. Just in the house when I’m lounging around. I can easily see these pants being my new favourite.

Nighttime look

The last look I put together for Maddy was a nighttime look. I had a great time putting this outfit together because I could add fun elements to the look. I kept the base simple with jeans and a silky top. I thought the silhouette of the top would look amazing on Maddy, it is the perfect balance of fun but still classy. The element I added to elevate this look even more was the yellow heels with a matching bag. I was worried about the colour choice as I’ve never seen her wear this bright yellow colour but took the chance!

Maddy’s rating: 9/10

I really like this outfit, the jeans are super stylish and the perfect wash. The tie top is very pretty and with the high-waisted jeans it would be perfect for a nighttime dinner and I like showing a little mid-drift. These heels are a funky colour and would be really fun since I love colour in my outfits and the purse just adds to that funky pop of colour.
