Hello everyone!
Today I am bringing to you another Styled by ALTG post! These have become my favourite posts to put together. I love creating outfits for people, capturing who they are while also adding elements that they might not have thought to try before. Everyone’s style is so unique so being able to create different looks is just so fun to me. Again, if you are new here ‘Styled by ALTG’ is a series where I style friends, family and readers for various events. Today I am styling my cousin Abbey, who’s style can be described as very simple and minimalistic. I greatly took this into consideration when creating these looks and choose staple pieces with a twist, such as the cargo joggers in the first look. I put together a school day, casual night out, day at home and exploring day look for her! Keep reading to see what Abbey thought about each of the looks and the rating she gave for each one. Hope you all enjoy!
SCHOOL DAY LOOK
The first look that I put together for Abbey was a school day look. She is a university student at McMaster therefore comfort is always key. I wanted to make sure that this look was both comfy and cute at the same time. It’s easy to wear leggings and a sweatshirt everyday, I am guilty of the same thing but I think its fun to switch it up a bit. I first found these amazing cargo joggers that I thought were a fun take on a traditional sweatpant. I thought they were so Abbey’s style. I then thought to add this cropped jean jacket that has a 90’s fit. Abbey has a Roots backpack that she always wears so I wanted to incorporate that into this look. The good thing with this one is its big enough to fit textbooks and a laptop. Overall this is the perfect comfy but cute school look.

Abbey’s Comments: OMG, this is totally my style! I love how it’s comfy yet still looks so put together and cute! I love the neutral colors and the bag is so perfect. I love cropped tops like that, they are comfy and make the outfit look clean. The shoes look so cool with the pants and jacket, I love them. This outfit so cute I’m obsessed, I need to get every piece!!!!
CASUAL NIGHT OUT LOOK
This one of my favourite looks that I put together for Abbey. I knew I needed to keep it simple so it stayed true to her style and true to the casual night out vibe she was going for. I love these jeans paired with this top because the jeans are more laid back mom fit but the top dresses them up. They are just the perfect combination. I took a chance with the snake skin shoes as they are not something I have ever seen her wear. However, the point of this styling series is to sometimes pick items that might be out of the persons comfort zone, therefore I did exactly that because I knew they would look amazing on her. The height of them is perfect for the occasion and they elevate the whole outfit.

Abbey’s Comments: Laura really captured my personality with this outfit. I love being casual but I always felt like if I were to go out I would look underdressed. This outfit solves that problem but still stays true to who I am but adds in the cuteness, which is just what I needed. The shirt is so cute and simple and the bow adds that extra bit of fanciness that brings the outfit up a notch. I wouldn’t normally pick those shoes out but I’m definitely going to now because they really make the whole look! The bag looks so cute with the shoes and I have a bag just like that! I love gold jewelry and again the shoes and black jeans make it pop and I love it!!
AT HOME COMFY LOOK
An at home look is essential these days and I knew I wanted to create a super cozy and neutral toned outfit for Abbey. Again I wanted to choose basic items to be in line with her minimal style but with an elevated twist. A perfect example of this is with this romper, it is super comfortable to wear and an easy go to but the linen fabric and tie adds extra details. Abbey is also known for wearing a lot of rings so I knew I wanted to include one in this look. This gold one from mejuri was the perfect option. Lastly this cardigan just makes the look for colder summer nights!

Abbey’s Comments: This look really brings style to my usual comfy look (which is just sweats and a t-shirt). I love the neutral colors and how the whole outfit screams cozy! I want to live in that cardigan! I love the ring! It’s so simple but it adds another level to the look. I also love those shoes and how they are easy to slip on and off and match with the romper so well. I love the tie on the waist of the romper!
EXPLORING LOOK
Lastly I put together an exploring day look for Abbey. A day of exploring means that you need to be comfortable so I started with these amazing converse. I thought they were such a cool twist on a classic white sneaker with the two colours. A white T-shirt is another staple and paired with these jean shorts is the perfect look. I thought this canvas bag was perfect because it played off the colours in the shoes, added a cool element but was still minimalistic. Overall this look is a cute but comfortable look for a day of exploring and walking around.

Abbey’s Comments: Again you nailed it!! This is totally something I’d wear and so perfect for an exploring day. A plain white tee is always a favorite of mine and this one looks so cute! That tote bag is such an essential for a day out and I can’t wait to get it! I have those glasses and I just bought those shorts and I love them so I can’t wait to create this outfit this summer!
