STYLED BY ALTG: MY COUSIN SARAH

Hello everyone!

I am back this week with another ‘Styled by ALTG’ post! If you are new to my blog or have never read one of these posts before, in this series I style my friends, family and readers for various events of their choosing. I have done 3 posts so far which I will link to below and look forward to doing many more. Everyone has their own unique style therefore I really make sure to think about what the person likes, even adding unexpected pieces they may not have thought to try before. This week I will be styling my cousin Sarah whose style can be described as minimalistic and classic. She asked me to put together a workday, day out, date night and comfy look. I love Sarah’s style and always find myself asking her where pieces in her wardrobe are from. We have a similar style therefore this post was super fun to put together and it was really hard not to purchase things as I went. Keep reading to see the outfits that I put together for Sarah and what she thought of each one!

Workday Look

Collage created using TurboCollage software from www.TurboCollage.com

The first look that I put together for Sarah was her workday outfit. In line with her minimalistic style I selected pieces that were very simple but all worked together to make an impact. Sarah works at an accounting firm so having professional business attire is key but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring by any means. These pants accomplish this perfectly as they are a fun green colour that is so in for this season while also being office appropriate. Sarah always wears her Daniel Wellington watch so I wanted to build on it with other brown accessories.

Sarah’s Comments: Again, you’ve absolutely nailed it! I am so obsessed with this look! You’ve totally captured my minimalistic style, and this is an outfit I wish I had in my closet! I have a lot of green in my wardrobe (it’s my favourite colour), and this light green is perfect for the summer. I also love that you’ve incorporated my watch into this look, it’s my all-time favourite accessory! I love that you’ve added other accessories that would complement the watch, and the purse is the perfect work bag. The mules dress up the outfit yet are so fun and playful for the season. I am obsessed with absolutely everything about this look – it’s so clean and simple and also totally fabulous! I feel like I could conquer the business world in this outfit!

Day Time Look

Collage created using TurboCollage software from www.TurboCollage.com

This is one of my favourite looks that I put together for Sarah. It’s  such a versatile day time look. She can wear it for a shopping day downtown or even to a fancy brunch. It screams summer vibes to me with the straw bag and yellow dress. I remember Sarah mentioning that she was really into florals for the season so I knew I had to incorporate them into this look. Overall it is the perfect simple but summer day time look!

Comments: You absolutely, totally, completely NAILED this look! I love going on day trips, especially in the summer – whether it’s going to brunch with friends or a shopping day downtown and this is definitely an outfit I’d pick out for myself. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for a floral-type print, and the yellow colour really makes the outfit pop. White sneakers are a staple in my everyday looks, and I love that you’ve added them here because it gives the outfit a playful vibe. I am also loving this purse – it screams summer and it totally makes the outfit. And of course, sunglasses are a must-have for a day out. Overall, this is such an effortless, yet super stylish outfit and I need this dress asap!

Date Night Look

The next look that I put together for Sarah was a date night look. I started with this amazing silk slip dress as I thought it was so elegant. Following the black theme I paired it with these black strappy heels. I have never seen Sarah wear a shoe like this but knew they would look amazing on her and add an element of interest to the outfit. They are a style that is so in for this season and is an elevated but still minimal twist on your classic pump. The accessories complete the outfit with these gorgeous gold earrings and black woven look bag that can be worn cross body or as a clutch.

Rating (out of 10): 10/10

Comments: I absolutely LOVE this look! I think the slip dress is such a simple yet sexy piece to spice up date night. I consider myself to be a minimalist when it comes to my style, so I feel like this is the perfect dress for me. The shoes aren’t something I’d pick out for myself, but I’m so glad that you did because I’m totally in love with them! I’ve been looking for the perfect strappy black heel to add to my wardrobe (I feel like strappy black heels are a staple and can pair well with nearly any look) and these are definitely it! I also love that the heel is not too high, I would definitely wear these to a restaurant. The subtle pattern on the handbag is right up my alley and it’s perfect for a night out, it’s not too big yet not too small either – I don’t pack light when I go out! The simple gold jewellery is such a cute addition and it really completes the look. I can’t wait to try out this look once this is all over!

Comfy Quarantine Look

Collage created using TurboCollage software from www.TurboCollage.com

The last look I put together for Sarah was of course a comfy quarantine look. I knew I wanted to include a romper as they are pretty much the summer version of a sweat pant and sweater combo. They are so easy to slip on and I knew that this one in particular was so Sarah’s style. I added these brown mules because again they are easy to just slip on and off while at home and thought the colour complimented the romper perfectly. Lastly I added this cardigan because it is light enough to wear in the summer especially when it gets a little cold at night or inside.

Rating: 9/10

Comments: This is such a cute look! Now that we’re heading into warmer weather, I think this romper is perfect for summer loungewear and I love the colour. Lately I’ve been incorporating longer cardigans into my wardrobe (especially since we’ve been stuck lounging around at home) and I just bought a cardigan that looks exactly like this one – it’s like you read my mind! I love the addition of the scrunchie, they’re now my go-to hair tie! The mules are absolutely adorable, they’re the perfect substitution to just normal house slippers and I’ve been wanting to get myself a pair of cute mules like these for so long (and now I may just do it)! You’ve made a casual, at-home look so fabulous, and I am loving it!
